North Carolina State University, the Plants for Human Health Institute, the Rubus and Ribes Working Group and the Vine and Berry Fruits Section of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), are proud host the XI International Rubus and Ribes Symposium. The Symposium is scheduled for June 21-24, 2015 in Asheville, NC. A pre-symposium tour will take place June 18-20, 2015 in the Charlotte, NC area.
This ISHS Symposium attracts researchers from around the world who work in aspects of Rubus and Ribes research, teaching, extension, business, and public services. The attendees of this symposium have a reputation of being a convivial group and this event in particular helps to maintain and promote international co-operation between Rubus and Ribes colleagues all over the world.
The theme for the XI International Rubus and Ribes Symposium is entitled “Healthful Harvests, Global Reach, Local Roots.” As the production and consumption of berries increases, we are increasingly aware of the impact that scientific findings have on the advancement of these crops. The conference will feature talks by top scientists in the field from the US and abroad, poster sessions, a tour of raspberry and blackberry grower farms in the area.
